Societal Recognitions
Kollyuru generously received awards, accolades , prizes in all Local, district, state and national levels. His achievements are as follows : Karnataka Rajyotsava prize in 2002 at Bangalore, Karnataka Folk and Yakshagana Academy Award in 1996, Tulu Literature Academy Award in 2006, A national award by honourable president Pratibha devi singh patil on 26-02-2008( the Central Music Drama Academy Award) and and ‘Honorary Doctorate’ from the University of Mangalore on 07-04-2020.
In 1977, Udupi, Shiribeedu, under the leadership of M.S. Krishnan of Sridevi Textiles, Ammunje Nagesh Nayak, Nirmala Nilaya Sundarashetti, K.M. Raghava Nambiar, on the stage of Karnataka Yakshagana Drama Assembly, Kollyuru was honoured with love and respect, which resulted in his popularity in the Malenadu States, Mumbai, Bangalore and many different places.
Bahrain Yakshagana Fans , Kundapur Lawyer Yakshagana Artist – Organizer Kalinga Nawadas, led by Hegde, and the Vice-Chancellors of Mandapa Prabhakaran were called upon to join the bandwagon, they had the condition that even Kollyuru had to join them.
